Wedding Officiant Supply List: Our Favourite Tools of the Trade

Wondering what a wedding officiant actually needs to show up prepared on the big day? This is CSWO's go-to supply list - the exact items our instructors and graduates rely on for ceremonies, built from real experience (and a few learning moments!) in the field.

Script and Ceremony Tools

We talk a lot in CSWO Foundations about the different options our team likes to use for their ceremony scripts.. here are our faves!

• Script binder - For those who love printed paper! This one has a strap on the back so it's easy to hold with one hand.
• Script notebook - small and compact and looks beautiful, for those officiants who like to write their ceremonies out by hand.
• iPad Mini - The modern and eco-friendly (but expensive!) choice. The mini is nice and lightweight and easy to hold with one hand.
• Pens - We get comments on these pens at almost every ceremony we do. It is KEY to have a good pen, as an officiant!

Day-Of Setup

• Folding table - lightweight, easy to carry and folds up to go in the car.
• Envelopes - a nice size to fit your couples' paperwork in, plus no licking!

Comfort and Emergency Kit

• Water bottle - We like that this has both a straw and a larger opening option!
• Breath mints - You don't want to be known as the officiant with bad breath. These are our faves and truly addictive, so you may want to load up. 
• Tissues - Always good to have
• Hand sanitizer - You're shaking a lot of hands on a wedding day, and getting sick during wedding season is bad news!
• Umbrella - Always good to have in the car - you never know when the weather will shift.
• Small first aid kit - You will inevitably need this at some point.. good to have!
• Lint roller - ESPECIALLY if you have pets. 

Wardrobe

• Comfortable heels — If you ask any wedding vendor who wears heels which ones they wear, these will be the answer almost every time. They are the only ones we've found that can be worn comfortably for long periods of time and the heel is thick enough to prevent sinking in grass!

Business Tools
